Lady Flame Shares with Toby!
Your eyes do not deceive you, Lady Flame is voluntarily sharing the sofa with Toby! Of course, this was during a severe thunderstorm while Lady was experiencing anxiety bordering on panic, but still--there she is!

First Play Date with Dennis
Lady Flame & Toby meet Dennis!
Hey Shannon and Billy, the end of the conversation was that Dennis will probably make a great 4th "sorta half-sib" as he is vocal and ready to rumble! So, we'll have to have a play date soon with the big guy (and when Trouble is healed and ready to play again;-)

| (Click on any photo/photo set for a larger view.) |
He is 3-1/2 years old (having been born on August 8, 2012), and is one handsome dark brindle dude!
Drew fell instantly in love with the new pup.
And, Toby actually got along with Dennis as well!

| Hey Dennis, lets go dig in the sand pit! Yahoo!!! |
Bettina said, "Ho Hum...what's all the fuss about? I need some lovin'!"
But even Bettina couldn't resist socializing with all the pups.
Then, Lady Flame and Dennis got the zoomies and did a bit of running.
And, finally it was time to go home and snooze away the rest of the afternoon. Thank you, Veronica, for allowing us to spend some quality time with you, Dennis and Bettina on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon.

Leary Lady Flame
Well, I have been on crutches since Tuesday, and this has thrown Lady Flame into a tizzy. She truly thinks that the crutches are out to get her. I have only gotten in one fleeting pet as she raced past me last night, and other than that she flees to her crate as I move around the house.
Why am I using crutches? Would you believe that I was injured in a kick-boxing tournament? No? Ummm...Would you believe that I was injured in an indoor badminton match? Really, no? Ummm... Would you believe that a cutting board threw itself out of the drainboard and landed square on my foot, breaking my second toe? Oh, sure you would...and that is what really happened... Luckily, I think that I will be able to stow the crutches away this weekend.

Toby's Tough Day
Toby had a rough day. His eyesight is getting worse and we are having a hard time adjusting as we just don't know what he does see. Drew took the pups on a walk along the Topsham river trail after their nail clipping. He took his eyes off Toby for one moment, and the next thing he knew, Toby had done a frontal chest slam into a big granite bench. It had to have hurt, but Toby didn't even let out a whimper.
Then, later in the day, Neighbor Carla came over and the pups got so excited that they started running around the yard. Toby was focused on Lady Flame so he wasn't paying attention to where he was running, and he did a shoulder slam into the magnolia tree. He now has a cut above his left eye.
And, over the weekend, he did a Twirly Toby move and slammed his hind end into the side of the wood shed. Our poor boy is a walking disaster.
